24 Jun Romantic Real Wedding | Anthony & Esta
This Romantic Real Wedding takes us to a stunning venue near George – Trinity Gate Farm Venue. Anthony & Esta’s wedding day was so beautiful and inspirational we just had to share it! Enjoy.
Our love story
Anthony and I met on the 6thof February 2014 on the NWU Potchefstroom campus. We went to a popular coffee shop off campus for our first date and just chatted to get to know each other. I remember the butterflies feeling when I first laid my eyes on him.
From there on, we made sure that we spend plenty of time together. I also remember that we were very shy at first but our love started to blossom as we got to know each other.
Two of the many highlights of 2014, was our first kiss and the day Anthony asked me to be his girlfriend. Just before our first kiss, Anthony told me that he is going to do something that he long wanted to do.
Anthony invited me for dinner on the 25thof July and had cooked the most delicious meal. He asked me to be his girlfriend just before we started to eat so that we can share our first meal as an official couple together.
I cherish our time together as students, as it gave us the opportunity to do activities which we would not do otherwise. I was lucky to have a partner that I could invite to all the informal and formal dances and know that we will have a good time together.
Our most precious memories (of our time as students) are those of us “studying” together in the campus library. (We wrote more love letters than we did studying), eating at my hostel’s dining hall and surprise visits at night.
On New Years of 2017, we realized that 2017 is going to be a difficult year seeing as Anthony got a job in Bloemfontein and I got admission to Honours in Potchefstroom. But we were willing to work hard on our relationship. We got to see each other once a month and really appreciated the time we got to spend together.
While I was on my way to Bloemfontein, Anthony prepared for the proposal by decorating the floor with rose petals, lighting candles (packed in the shape of a heart). Our favorite song was also playing in the background.
On the 7thof June 2017, he asked me whether I will make him the happiest man alive by marrying him. I asked whether he was serious before I gave him a “yes”.
We really thought that we knew each other well but it felt as if we got to know each other even more while planning our wedding. We realized that communication during wedding planning set the tone and foundation of communication in marriage.
Anthony and I had different things in mind with regards to our budget. I wanted to spend more money on the wedding than on the honeymoon, but Anthony wanted it vice versa.
Luckily, we concluded that our honeymoon is going to be special, regardless of how much money is spent. Other than that, we did have a great overall experience in wedding planning.
Our wedding day
We have waited a long time for our most special day considering that we knew right from the start of our relationship that we are going to marry. But when the day finally arrived, we could not believe how blessed we are with each other.
We enjoyed the preparation and the excitement of the day. One of our many highlights of the day is when I walked down the aisle with my dearest dad next to me.
We struggled to control our emotions because we realized how big our love is for one another and how excited we are for our future together. Zander (one of the groomsmen and Anthony’s best friend) married us and gave the most beautiful message during the ceremony.
We kissed passionately and enjoyed our guests’ enthusiasm as they threw the confetti. We are very thankful for the photographer we chose because we had such a great time with her during the photo session.
Time flew and next thing we know it was time for the reception. One of the fondest memories I made during the reception is dancing with my father on a song I grew up with.
We don’t know who between us and our guests enjoyed the shoe game the most but luckily Anthony and I agreed on most of the questions. Anthony and I ended our wedding day with a slow dance and a declaration of our unending love for each other.
Tips for future brides
Appreciate everyone involved with the wedding planning – they do want you to be happy and have the best day of your life.
Do hire a videographer if your budget allows it, the day is going to fly by and you don’t want to regret not hiring a videographer. It REALLY is worth every cent.
Ensure that your guests are happy because the most beautiful photos are those of happy guests.
Take in every moment of the day and try to stay calm. Don’t allow too many people with you during the preparation, you don’t want to feel overwhelmed on such an important day.
Communicate with your suppliers, ensure that you do have the same things in mind for your big day.
